We also want our community of workers and volunteers to be healthy and dedicated to the service of each other.

HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT

Co-founders of the establishment: Kretinga's monastery of the Annunciation to Our Lady of the Lithuanian province of St. Casimir and natural person Ms. Margarita Lizdenytė.

In 2004 we’ve started the program in the name of Franciscan youth ministry of Kretinga. But the more we worked with children, going through various crises in the family and with their families; we noticed that the program is not enough that we need not only to go deep into their problems, but to organize comprehensive and timely help. So arose the idea to extend the program and to tackle it by establishing a separate organization.

St. Anthony's day center was founded on 21st November in 2007 in Kretinga. In the beginning the basis for the center was the program "Be good, if you can" the main aim of the program was care and education of children and teenagers from the poor families through artistic self-expression.

GOALS
  1. To improve and continue the programs carried on by St. Anthony's day centre.
  2. To organize education of the workers and volunteers invoking co-working partners.
  3. To create and adjust the building (ex-workshop of school) for the soup-kitchen, the social work with the homeless people, the families going through crises: parents, children and community educational center.
  4. To organize voluntary projects.
  5. To adapt the program „Big brothers big sisters“ seeking to help the children going through crises.
  6. To organize and expand activity onto which could join and other members of the society.
HOW DO WE MAINTAIN?
St. Anthony’s day center is a non-profit public establishment which has the status of beneficiary and maintains from the support/funding of projects and offerings of benefactors.

Yearly we organize events for the families: Christmas, Mother’s day, opening and closing of the school year; member of the children’ families are invited: parents, guardians, brothers and sisters, grandparents – children show what they’ve done, perform, etc.
Workers, volunteers, children and their family members participate in various actions and event: ecological actions, fairs, etc.
